Hosein SumintraHOSEIN, Sumintra -

JANUARY 25, 1931 – JANUARY 11, 2024

Sumintra Hosein Also known as Aunty Sylvia. Sumintra Hosein was born in Trinidad on January 25, 1931, and departed peacefully in the arms of her son Gregory Alexander on January 11, 2024, in Toronto Canada.

She was an amazing mother of five children Gregory Alexander, George Hosein, Jasmine Alexander, Michael Vasquez and her departed son Imzan Hosein among many others whom she loved and cared for.

She was also the Mother-In-Law to Zena Hosein, Mala Alexander and departed Shiela Hosein.

Grandmother to Shaffia Hosein Atout, Imran Hosein, Jorelle Alexander, Keshaun Alexander, Kevin Finley, Janelle Finley-Alexander, Ronnie Finley, Aruna Hosein De-Gazon, Nazeema Hosein Singh, Shaliza Hosein, Rajesh Hosein, Ravi Hosein, Rishi Hosein and Great Grandmother of 17.

Aunt to Joseph, Judy, Meena, Sandra, Shyroon, Tara, Phillip, Cherry, Natasha, Nitoo, Debbie Ann, Paul, Sham, Gary Lal, Garfield Lal, Gregon Lal and Gordon Lal. Our loving mother, grandmother and aunt loved cooking and baking.

She took great pride in preparing special meals for her family members who looked forward to a delicious hot meal whenever they stopped by.

She also worked as a Chef at the St. Charles Convent in Tunapuna where she was able to demonstrate her skills on a professional level.

Cooking and baking were her pride and joy to the point where she would run away from her parents' home to help the elderly cook and wash.

She always positioned herself to be there for someone in need. Her doors were always open, and a hot meal was always available.

She was a loving, giving and selfless individual who will never be forgotten.

Visitation will be at the Oshawa Funeral Home on Wednesday January 17, 2024 from 4 to 8 pm and on Thursday January 18 from 12:30 until time of service in the Chapel at 2 pm. The Funeral Service will be available via Livestream using the following link: https://pickartphoto.com/stream/Hosein/
