Marczuk AdelaMARCZUK, Adela -

SEPTEMBER 24, 1927 – JANUARY 15, 2024

Adela Marczuk, 96, of Oshawa, passed away peacefully on Jan 15th after a long, beautiful life.

Adela was born on September 24th 1927 to Julia and Jan Mazur in Belzec, Poland.

Challenging times to grow up in. She had lost most of her friends and family to the war(s).

Later, Adela married Ludwik Marczuk.

Adela and Ludwik went on to have 3 children, Janine Giffin, Barbara Marczuk and Zygmunt Marczuk. Adela lived quite the life. 96+ years of strength, courage, kindness, love and deep unwavering faith.

She very much enjoyed nature of all kinds. Her love of dogs and animals so strong that the whole family inherited that trait.

Appreciating the birds and trees, thankful for it all, every day. She enjoyed cooking for her family, gardening, going to Church and travelling. There are many amazing stories of her life, wartime, struggles, loss, survival and love. She had lost most of her family in wars, with just a few women at home to carry on.

After losing her husband Ludwik to Cancer and her daughter Barbara to various disabilities/illnesses, with her son and daughter with their families in Canada, she eventually moved to Canada. She spent many years living with her son and daughter in law, helping raise their 3 beautiful, smart and successful daughters.

She went on many trips back to Poland to spend summers at her home, which she loved, had many vacations with her daughter and son in law to tropical places, she loved the water, sun and sand. She had many trips to her son’s cottage where she enjoyed the forest and fresh air. She moved in with her daughter for her golden years.

After caring for others her whole life, it was her time to be cared for. Many talks, walks and time together, much to be thankful for. Adela was predeceased by her daughter Barbara and husband Ludwik. She is survived by her Daughter Janine Giffin (SIL Brent), her Son Zygmunt Marczuk (DIL Ivona), her Grandchildren Olympia Richards, Kimberly Giffin, Cameron Giffin, Monika Marczuk, Aleksandra Marczuk, Camila Marczuk, her great grandchildren Hanna Giffin, Celina Chaudhry, and Nash Gaatch.

All whom she loved deeply. Adela will be held dear in the hearts of everyone who knew her, and she will never be forgotten for her wisdom, humbleness and love.

Visitation will be held at OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME on Thursday January 18th, 7-9pm. Procession for the burial will follow to Resurrection Catholic Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Hedwig Parish, renovation fund. She was unwavering in her faith and always took great pleasure to be able to give to the Catholic Church and the many fund-raising events they hold. We will continue her charitable ways.

Donation can be made on site via church envelope or via this link https://www.archtoronto.org/en/contact-us/donations/donate-pages/donate-to-parish-offertory/?des=DPP149. Please choose St. Hedwig, in the note box please put renovation fund in honor of Adela Marczuk.

Alternatively, donations can be made to Oshawa General Hospital Cancer Center, who treated her very well and with kindness.
