Gee DouglasGEE, Douglas Brian Gee -

SEPTEMBER 27, 1960 – FEBRUARY 12, 2024

It is with a heavy heart we announce the sudden passing of Doug Gee, 63, on February 12th, 2024 at home.

His loss is completely unexpected, and his family is profoundly saddened.

Doug leaves behind his love Heather and the family they created with such loving hearts.

Doug is a proud father of Kristina (Josh Wilcox) and Victoria (Asa Colman).

Papa leaves behind his grandsons Ciaran and Aodhan (Wilcox). He also leaves behind is brothers Bruce (Joanne) and Richard (Cathy), and step-brother and sisters to Catherine, John (Ruth) and Kelly (Arnold). Doug was also uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Doug was predeceased by his father Brian, mother Lois and step-mother Arlene.

Doug’s love for sports and the outdoors was only surpassed by the love he has for his family. He made life-long friends while playing football, baseball, golf, hockey, etc.

Doug was also a keen fisherman. Some of his fondest memories were his road trips to Newfoundland and family reunions at the cottage. After working 29 years at Northern Elevator and TK Elevator, Doug will be fondly remembered by colleagues and friends across Canada.

He was looking forward to retiring when he could enjoy his love of carpentry. His departure comes as a great shock and is gravely felt by the entire family and countless others who knew Doug.

The family appreciates the support during this difficult time and would appreciate donations to Heart and Stroke Foundation (www.heartandstroke.ca) in memory of Doug.

Memorial visitation will be held at the OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West (905-721-1234) on Sunday, February 18th from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm. A Celebration of Life service will be held in the chapel at 1:30 pm. Reception will be held afterwards.
