ASSINCK, Reinie Assinck  -

February 7, 1931 - May 2, 2024

It is with great sadness that we announce the departure of our dear mother Reiniera Assinck (Massop) who passed away peacefully in her sleep on Friday May 3rd at Markham-Stouffville Hospital after a very brief illness.

Mom leaves behind her four children and their partners to grieve.

Mother to Ingrid Svelnis (Ron), Paul Assinck and Meddie, Dennis and Rick.  Mom is predeceased by her husband Leo Assinck (April 22, 2015).

Many family members have already departed but she is survived by her sister Dortje Overkamp and Brother Benny Massop and their families in Holland and by Sister inlaw Mary (Assinck) and Harry Geverink from Markham, Agnes (Assinck) Huininck and brother-in-law Frank Assinck and their families in Holland. Mom enjoyed hard work and being productive every day.

She enjoyed relaxing at the end of the day with a glass of wine, quiet afternoons reading a book, time at the cottage which included annual swims in the waters of Jack Lake, Apsley and being involved with her church, especially in the fall when she was asked to make apple pies.

Mom enjoyed exceptionally good health.  At 93 years of age, she was resilient and very seldom sick which she was extremely thankful for.  The family extends gratitude to the staff at Uxbridge Cottage Hospital and Markham-Stouffville Hospital for the care they provided.

She will be greatly missed by her children and friends who enjoyed her kind nature, sense of humour and generous spirit.

A Memorial Mass will be held at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Parish, 70 Toronto St. N., Uxbridge on Friday May 10, 2024 at 11:00 AM.  Reception to follow in the Parish Hall.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Uxbridge Cottage Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
