Montgomery BobMONTGOMERY, Bob Montgomery  -  On May 1, 2024, Bob Montgomery, at the age of 79, lost his fight with a severe form of leukaemia after just 8 weeks of rapidly declining health.

A devastating loss for his wife, Sharon (Crossman) Montgomery, son Rob and daughter-in-law Heidi Montgomery and son Kris and daughter-in-law Jackie Montgomery.

His grandchildren: Matt (Erin), Liam, Meagan (Matt), Jasper and Jameson will greatly miss their “Poppa”.

He was always a source of fun and a smile, inspiration and encouragement.

Bob was the son of Melville and Beatrice Montgomery (deceased) and brother of Doug (deceased) and sister-in-law Fay Montgomery. He was a favourite uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Bob was a licensed electrician, with a 31-year career as a supervisor with the Durham Region and was always helping friends and family with electrical problems.

He was a hockey coach for 19-years with the LNHL Blackhawks and Woodview Park.

Leaving one rink for another, he became an active member of the Oshawa Curling Club and continued curling until his last bonspiel this year in Haliburton. Bob also had a love for playing cards with friends and family.

Sharon and Bob would have celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary on May 21st. They travelled extensively, cruises, trips to Florida, but Bob’s favourite place was their family cottage on Lake Kushog.

Bob will be greatly missed by his family and his very many friends.

A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, May 25th from 12:00 - 3:00 p.m. at the Oshawa Convention Centre, 67 Simcoe Street North, Oshawa.

Arrangements with MOUNT LAWN FUNERAL HOME .

If desired, Memorial Donations may be made to Lakeridge Health Oshawa Cancer Center.
