Posavac VeraPOSAVAC, Vera (nee PUTRIC)   -   March 30, 1940 - January 16, 2023 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Vera Posavac, age 82, on January 16, 2023, in her home at Amica Bronte Harbour Oakville.

 

Vera passed peacefully, with her daughters, Rosemary Vassallo and Katharin Buhlman (Tom), by her side.

 

She was predeceased by her loving husband, Peter Posavac, of 62 years. Survived by sister, Mira Kutlesa (predeceased, Blaz); and brother-in-law, Tony Posavac (Anna).

 

Beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Sister, Sister-In-Law, and Aunt. Vera will be missed by her cherished grandchildren: Nadene Riopelle (Robert) and their children, Porter and Adelaide; and Krystal Davey (Ryan) and their children, Keaton, Owen, and Aila.

Vera was born in Velika Vranovina, Croatia to Mirko and Milka Putric.

 

She immigrated to Canada with her loving sister, Mira, to join their parents in 1956. It was in Toronto that she met the love of her life, Peter Posavac, and they were soon wed.

 

Their life together was a happy and prosperous one, with their two young daughters they set down roots in Oakville. Her sister, Mira, and her husband, Blaz, with their children, Stjepan (Paula), and Diana, also settled in Oakville, along with her predeceased parents, Milka and Mirko Putric. Along with her brother-in-law, Tony (Anna) and their children, Diana Kreuzwiesner (Mark), John (Sanja), there were many happy years of joyful family events. We will always remember Vera's beautiful warm smile and her vivacious personality.

 

The family would like to express deep thanks to the staff at Amica Bronte Harbour Oakville for their compassionate care.

 

Visitation will be held at Glen Oaks Funeral Home, 3163 Ninth Ln. in Oakville, on Thursday, January 26, 2023, from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Prayers will be held at the funeral home on Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, January 27, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity Croatian Catholic Church, 2110 Trafalgar Rd., Oakville. Following the Service, Vera will be taken to her place of rest alongside her husband, Peter, in Oakville.

 

Memorial donations in Vera's name to the Alzheimer Society of Ontario, would be gratefully appreciated.
