Passed peacefully, at Joseph Brant Hospital on Wednesday, June 7, 2023, in her 75th year.
Loving wife of the late James Finlay; dear birth-mother of Andrew Knight; proud grandmother of William and Kaz.
Barb was a cherished member of the David, Janet, Karen and Andrew Knight family, and beloved aunt to Lesley, Deanna, Eric, Michael, David and Stephen.
Predeceased by her parents, George Beveridge and Dorothy (nee Larkin); brother, Tom Beveridge; sister, Lyn Fountain; and her brother-in-law, Rodger Fountain.
Survived by her brother's wife, Kim Wilson; former sister-in-law, Judy Beveridge; and brother-in-law, Richard (Bear) Finlay. Barb was born and grew up in Ottawa; graduated from Fisher Park High School in 1969; and then attended Ottawa Teachers' College from 1969 to 1971.
Barb loved her work as an Office Manager in the Social Work Department at Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto, where she worked for almost 40 years, from 1974 to 2013.
The family extend their sincere thanks to all the caring staff at Creek Way Village and at Joseph Brant Hospital for all their support.
A Memorial Gathering will be held at Smith's Funeral Home, 1167 Guelph Line, Burlington, on Saturday, June 17th, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.
