It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Carolyn Jane Wylie (Copley), at the age of 89, on Tuesday, April 9, 2024.
Cherished mother to Scott (Linda) and Michael.
Caring sister to Rick; and beloved grandmother to Thomas. She will be greatly missed by her extended family and friends.
Carolyn was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She graduated from Children's Hospital of Winnipeg in 1956 as a registered nurse, and started her career as a Nurse Stewardess with TCA Airlines.
Carolyn moved to Toronto in 1966 to work in Nurse Administration, and in that capacity, facilitated the opening of Guildwood Long Term Care. She worked for many years at Scarborough General Hospital and Riverdale Hospital.
She loved both her work and the many colleagues she met along the way.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, at 4:00 p.m., at the McDougall and Brown Funeral Home, 2900 Kingston Road, Scarborough.
The family wishes to thank all the staff at Guildwood Extendicare for their care and support.
