Peterson FrankPETERSON, Frank - Passed away peacefully at home in Markham, Ontario on the morning of October 2, 2018. He was 92.

Predeceased by his wife Edna (Lawlor) and his son Michael.

Survived by his loving, long-time partner JoAnne Linn.

He will be greatly missed by his daughter Dale Peterson, his eldest son Paul and daughter-in-law, Judy.

Frank will also be fondly remembered by the members of JoAnne’s family including Peter and Jessica Linn and Paul and Laura Myles. Grandad Frank was greatly loved by grandchildren Dennis, Holly, Matt and Dougie (deceased).

As a teenager during World War II, Frank had enlisted in the military and was trained as a surveyor and draftsman. After the war he launched upon a long and successful career with international engineering firms where he made many life long friends. Until very recently some of those friends still gathered for card nights and Queen’s Plate horse racing. Frank was more than a sports fan. He touched many lives with organizing and coaching baseball and hockey teams and with mentoring individuals, athletically and personally.

Frank was a great dancer, loved to travel and party. He also looked very, very good in a tuxedo. We still see him enjoying a cigar, good wine and good company.

The Peterson and Linn families would like to thank the palliative care team of Dr. Patterson, Majid, Jenn and Negha for extraordinary care and support over these last months of Frank’s life.

Funeral services will be held at the Chapel Ridge Funeral Home, Markham on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 with visitation at 1 pm and a short service at 2 pm followed by reception.

In lieu of flowers donations to the Toronto Star Santa Claus Fund or to the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
