RASO, Maria Annunziata Albenese - It is with great sorrow that the family of Maria Annunziata announce her passing on Thursday, October 11, 2018 at the age of 98.
Maria Annunziata was born and raised in San Giorgio Morgeto, Reggio di Calabria, Italy, and immigrated to Canada in 1956 to begin a new life in Toronto.
She was an accomplished seamstress, a wonderful cook, devoted wife and mother who always gave her best to her family.
Maria Annunziata is predeceased by her loving husband, Salvatore and leaves behind her adoring children, Pasqualino, Angioletta (Ed) and Guido.
She is the much-loved nonna of her grandchildren, Vanessa (Jon), Matthew (Jenna), Michael (Jess), Paul and Andrea and bis-nonna to Frankie, Presley and Jack.
She will also be missed by her many nieces and nephews both here and in Italy.
Visitations will be held at the Cardinal Funeral Homes Ltd. Bathurst Chapel, Toronto on Monday, October 15, 2018 from 2 - 4 & 6 - 9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will take place on Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at 9:30 a.m. at the St. Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church with an Entombment to follow in Toronto, Ontario.
If desired, donations in Maria Annunziata's memory may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Toronto.
