NICHOLL, John Christopher  -  It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of John Christopher Nicholl, 72, at Sunnybrook Hospital on Tuesday, November 6, 2018.

Born in Glasgow, Scotland, John was the beloved husband of Shirley, loving father to Michael, and devoted brother to Betty, Jacqueline, and late brother, George.

As a confident young man arriving in Canada, John thrived in the Canadian insurance industry as an underwriter with General Accident Insurance. He quickly transitioned into higher management by creating business, changing insurance practices, leading employees, and successfully managing personalities. John was affectionately regarded by business associates for the same reasons he was so beloved by family and friends.

Possessing a warm, open-minded, and welcoming nature, John’s generous and humble demeanor drove a brilliant mind that was as sharp with an analysis as with a witty remark. Leading with his heart and a big smile, John always saw the best in everyone... and tried to assure that everyone saw the same reflection within themselves.

John will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him.

Requiem Mass at Our Lady of Fatima Shrine, 3170 St. Clair Ave. East, Scarborough (St. Clair Ave. E just east of Victoria Park Ave.) will take place on Monday, November 12, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. A Celebration of Life reception will follow at McDougall & Brown funeral home — 2900 Kingston Road, Scarborough.
