COOPER, Dr. Moira - (June 21, 1929 to November 9, 2018) - Dr. Moira Cooper, of Aurora.
She will be lovingly remembered by children Claire, Leo, Marty (Emily Godfree), Brendan (Marie Flood), Judy (Avrum Soicher), Erica, (Ron Mantay) and Genevieve (Jason Fairclough).
Survived by 16 grandchildren: Ben, Sierra, Owen, Grier, Spencer, Laura, Liam, Gabriel, Hannah, Lucie, Maya, Graham, Sean, Nathan, Theo and Linus. Survived by her brother Jimmy Lickley.
Born in Newcastle-upon-Tyne where she studied medicine, meeting Dr. William E Cooper when they worked together in Harrogate. Immigrated to Canada from England via Ohio where she was Fellow at Cleveland Clinic 1954-1955. Settled in the Niagara area, living in Niagara Falls and Fonthill for 55 years where she raised her family and volunteered in the community.
She loved playing tennis and spending time with her large family and circle of friends. She retained her nurturing warmth, positive outlook, and humour until the end.
Cremation has already taken place. Memorial mass to be held at St. Patrick’s in Niagara Falls on Saturday November 17th at 9am. Reception to follow.
