FORTINO, Ippolito - 89, of Toronto, passed away peacefully on November 20, 2018, at Trillium Mississauga surrounded by family.
Born in Cosenza, Italy on August 24, 1929. Married Fiorentina Natale on October 23, 1955, in Italy.
Immigrated to Canada in 1957 with his wife and newborn son.
He worked hard to raise his family in a new country.
In his later life, he dedicated 25 years of service as a School Crossing Guard.
He also enjoyed working in and around the house, especially in his vegetable garden. He is survived by his loving children Mario (Penny) and Lucy (Gilbert); cherished grandchildren Justin (Bianca), Laura and Julian; and great-grandchildren Olivia and Tyler.
He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and family across Canada and Italy. Predeceased by his wife Fiorentina; his parents Michele and Marietta; and siblings Luigi, Oreste, Erminia, Ida and Giovanni.
Thank you to all the 3rd floor “Roma” staff at Villa Forum for the caring support given to him during the last years of his life.
Donations in his memory can be made to a charity closest to your heart. Family and friends will be received at Glendale Visitation Centre, Etobicoke on Sunday, November 25, 2018, from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. A celebration of his life will take place on Monday, November 26, 2018, at 1 pm in the Chapel.
