BISWAS, Benoy - (March 4, 1933 – December 7, 2018) - Born in Allahabad, living a full life in India, Pakistan and then most of all, and last of all in Canada.
Survived by Joy (nee Joshua), his wife of 60 years, children Koruna Schmidt Mum, the late Onilla Rani Biswas, Benita Black and Matthew Biswas as well as nine grandchildren, a niece, Potlee Mukherjee, her family. Predeceased by sister, Benita Biswas Ruder, and son in law Bruce Black.
Benoy, son of Professor Nirmal Kumar and Mrs Helen Biswas. Benoy was a Major (ret’d) Pakistan army, in the Guides Cavalry, a branch of the Armoured Corp. He was a career soldier, who has lived his life with loyalty and diligence, even on the golf course, the game he loved so much.
His zeal and fortitude is what held his family together. Never afraid of hard work, and always willing to tackle the job ahead. An integral part of the Joshua family, having been regarded and supported by them for many years.
Visitation will be held at Rosar-Morrison funeral home, 467 Sherbourne St., Toronto on Tuesday December 11th from 4 to 8pm.
A funeral service will be held at LITTLE TRINITY ANGLICAN CHURCH, 425 King St E, Toronto, on Wednesday December 12th at 11am. Burial at Necropolis Cemetery.
