SHEPS, Martin  - Passed away peacefully on Friday, December 14, 2018, at the age of 66 years after a 12 year battle with ALS, surrounded by his family at Michael Garron Hospital (Toronto East General Hospital).

Beloved son of the late Jennie and Sam Sheps.

Loving husband of Susan (nee Farago), for 35 years, and caring father of David.

Dear brother and brother-in-law of Allan and Lorraine, Sheldon, Pauline Sheps and Alden Dychtenberg, and Franklin Sheps and Elaine Rumanek.

Caring uncle to Jordana Sheps and Kevin Greenglass, Rachel Sheps and Avi Libman, Michael, Stephen, Shira, Emily, Hannah, and Samantha. Born in Toronto in 1952, he became a high school teacher and had a long tenure at Malvern Collegiate Institute, passionately teaching math, science, and computers for 25 years.

Another one of his great interests, aside from teaching and spending time with his family, was aviation and he would fly Cessnas whenever he got the chance. He will always be remembered for his sense of humour including his abundant puns and for his eagerness to help others.

Unfortunately, he was diagnosed with ALS in 2006 and became ventilator dependent in 2010, which did not stop his puns or his zeal for life.

We would like to thank the staff of Michael Garron Hospital and our caregiving team for providing care and compassion and enhancing his quality of life in his last years.

He will be truly missed by his family and friends. Service will be at Benjamin's Park Memorial Chapel, 2401 Steeles Avenue West, on Monday, December 17, 2018 at 12:00 p.m.
