Madden DianeMADDEN, Diane  -  Peacefully, on Saturday, December 15, 2018, at the Toronto Western Hospital, at the age of 77.

Beloved wife of Byron Bally.

Predeceased by her son Sheldon McChesney. Will be dearly missed by her sons Gordon McChesney, Steve Willard and Howard Willard.

Sister of Gail Miron, Lois Brennan, Gloria Decator and Alison Brennan.

Grandmother of Tawnie, Jordon, Brandon, Jesse, Alex, Marlie, Tori and KC.

Dearest friend of Tammara Dearie and Jenni Decator.

Diane was an impressively independent woman who everyone can agree was one of the strongest persons you would ever know. She lived her life with no apologies for doing whatever was necessary to care for her family. She was the quintessential mother, first to her siblings, then her own children and even at times other family members’ children. She was the glue in the family for most of her life and you always knew that if you needed her, she would do whatever she could to help even if that help was to make you check yourself. She was a fighter and had a great sense of justice and her example inspired others to not settle, or accept things that made them unhappy. Most of all she tried to make sure the people that she loved knew it and felt it, including those that the rest of us brought into her orbit. Lovers, spouses, friends of family, all were made welcome and treated with open arms and as part of the family. She will be so dearly missed by many.

Friends may call at the Turner & Porter Butler Chapel, 4933 Dundas St. W. at Burnhamthorpe, on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 from 2 to 5 p.m.

For those who wish, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Mom Project.
