VARVAS, Liina Maria - April 17, 1921 - December 31, 2018
After a rich and full life, Liina passed away peacefully into the arms of her Lord and Savior at the Toronto Finnish-Canadian Seniors Centre (SUOMI-KOTI) Nursing Home, Friday, December 21, 2018.
Born in Sakkola, Finland, April 17, 1921 and married in 1994, she along with family immigrated to Canada in 1955.
Liina was the beloved wife of the late Pentti Varvas and is survived by her sons Matti (Raija), Pekka (Anita), Juhani (Tellervo), her 8 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was a woman of strong faith, hard work, stamina, tenderness, compassion and love. Her favourite scripture was Psalm 23, "The Lord is my Shepherd."
Funeral Service will be held at the Finnish Pentecostal Church of Toronto, 2570 Bayview Avenue on Friday, December 28th at 11 a.m. with Vistation begining at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Finnish Pentecostal Church of Toronto http://wwwsaalem.org or Suomi-Koti Nursing Home http://www.suomikoti.ca.
