Morse PeterMORSE, Peter George  -  (June 1, 1930 - January 2, 2019)  -  Peter died peacefully in the embrace of Hill House Hospice on January 2, 2019 with family by his side.

Peter was born in Toronto, son of Pauline Culotta and Bernard Morse. He graduated University of Toronto School of Medicine in 1955.

Peter was predeceased by his dear wife and soulmate, Joan.

He was proud father of Michael (Heather Nicol), Janet (Darren Larsen) and Jonathan (Ginette Fisher), and very proud Poppa to Graeme, Lauren and Jeremy Larsen, and Kathryn, Andrew, Ben, Sasha and Theo Morse. He is survived by his sister, Muriel Stone.

Peter was a most trusted and respected physician, practicing in Thornhill from 1958-1995. Peter and Joan were active in the community, through their own lives and those of their children. He was an avid tennis player, skier and loved the outdoors, passing along these passions to his family. So many wonderful family times were shared in Muskoka at the cottage, and skiing at Alpine Ski Club.

He and Joan had many dear friends with whom they enjoyed spending time. They treasured the 'camp crowd', ski friends, cottage friends, medical classmates and colleagues, and many friends in Thornhill, especially the 'Pot luck group'. Pete’s ever faithful tennis buddies deserve special mention—he loved his tennis!

Peter lost a part of him with Joan’s death in 2007 and then Parkinson’s started to take its toll. He struggled with increasing disability over the last 10 years, but accepted this with grace and dignity. Those who knew Peter appreciated his quiet wisdom, kindness and thoughtfulness. He touched so many. He will be missed.

Our deepest gratitude to Dr. Roy Blachowitz, and to all the wonderful staff at Hill House Hospice, where Peter spent his last days. We would also like to acknowledge the staff at Glynnwood Retirement Home and Eldercare, who supported Peter in the last year as his health declined.

Visitation will take place on Tuesday January 8, 2019 2:30-4:30 and 6:30-8:30 pm at R.S. Kane Funeral Home (6150 Yonge St, Toronto, at Goulding Ave, south of Steeles). Funeral service will take place at Holy Trinity Anglican Church, (140 Brooke St, Thornhill) at 12 noon on Wednesday January 9, 2019.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hill House Hospice (HillHouseHospice.com), or Parkinson Canada (parkinson.ca).
