AIKMAN, Violet Josephine (nee MURDOCK) "Vi"  -  98, passed away peacefully with her family at her home in Markham on January 6, 2019.

She was born in Toronto on June 14, 1920 to the late Edith (nee McNally) and Joseph Murdock.

She was married to her beloved husband the late James (Jimmy) Macdonald Aikman in 1948 and they lived together in Etobicoke before retiring to Haliburton and then Uxbridge.

She is survived by her daughter Sherri Mattice and grandson Graham.

She will be remembered for her lively, exuberant spirit and her years of charitable work which recently included knitting over 750 teddy bears for "Teddies For Tragedies".

These brightened the lives of children (all over the world) whose lives had been impacted by wars, natural disasters, parental disease or deaths. No public viewing or service is planned.

Her family wishes to express their utmost thanks to the absolutely amazing support provided by the nurses of St. Elizabeth Healthcare; to Daisy and Fanny, her 2 primary support workers, who, with their dedicated and loving care, enriched her daily life over the past 10 years and to Ros from Evergreen for her steadfast friendship.
