DesRoches MarionDESROCHES, Frances 'Marion' (Corby) - The family is sad to announce the passing of Marion on February 1, 2019, but know she has already joined her loving husband Bill, with whom she shared sixty-one years of marriage and who died in 2011.

Beloved Mother to John (Judy), Blaine, David (Cate) and Mark.

Grandmother to Jessie and Aunt to many nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by brothers Ralph (Marie), Frank (Dorita) and survived by brother Art (Maureen).

Marion was an impeccable homemaker, but by no means stayed at home. Always busy with “The Girls”, Milne House Garden Club, Bridge, and rug-hooking. An avid traveller, Marion thoroughly enjoyed the vacations she and Bill spent with her brothers and wives in Myrtle Beach. Along with her niece Sandra, Marion had a blast travelling!

Both Marion and Bill found treasured places in their lives through being Associates of the Sisters of St. Joseph.

Great business skills were evidenced by the detailed household ledgers Marion kept, and she went on to contribute her talents to York University’s Living and Learning in Retirement in the position of secretary.

Marion’s pride and joy was the family cottage at Thunder Beach where she entertained, enjoyed long beach walks with Bill and had many, many dear friends. Her journal entries reflect that the cottage was the fabric of her life, built around precious family time.

Everyone loved Marion for her strong, yet gentle determination that propelled her through her 97 years, and which will continue to guide her family.

In lieu of flowers, Marion’s memory would be honoured if you chose to donate to Sisters of St. Joseph of Toronto through CanadaHelps.org or Salvation Army, directed to Meighen Manor, online at Salvationarmy.ca/donations.

Visitation to be held at the Morley Bedford Funeral Home, Toronto on Thursday, February 7th from 11 am to 12 pm. Service in the chapel of the funeral home at 12:00 pm with a Reception to follow. Interment will be held in Penetanguishene in the Spring.
