CHARLES, Clayton Alcendor “Boomsie” - November 9, 1943 - September 4, 2019 - It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Clayton, Husband, Father and Grandfather in his 75th year.
He passed away peacefully at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre on Wednesday September 4, 2019.
Son of Patrick Charles and Lucy Pinard, and husband to his loving wife of 45 years, Deanna.
Clayton leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, strength and perseverance to be carried on by his wife Deanna, daughters Sacha and Sapphira Charles (husband Adam Smith), and his grandsons Luca Charles and Colm Smith.
Clayton was born in Roseau, Dominica and emigrated to Toronto, Canada in 1968 where he began his post-secondary education. Clayton was a Secondary School Teacher for more than 25 years. He inspired all and was kind and fair to his students.
He was a man of strength, honour, and dignity and a fierce protector of his family. He revelled in the accomplishments of his wife, children and grandchildren and was always engaged in and supported their activities, accomplishments, and dreams.
He faced cancer in recent years and always showed us what strength and courage looked like.
There will be a viewing on Monday, September 9, 2019 between 6:00 p.m and 8:00 p.m at Highland Funeral Home, Scarborough.
The funeral service will be in the chapel on Tuesday September 10, 2019 at 11:00 am and reception to follow.
In lieu of flowers the family will be accepting donations to Myeloma Canada.
