Shim PeggySHIM, Peggy (Lyn) - Jan 22, 1941 - Oct 2, 2019 - Resident of Toronto, after battling with lymphoma, Parkinson's, and finally lung cancer over the past two decades, Peggy passed away peacefully at the Sunnybrook Palliative Care Unit.

Peggy was born in Santa Hill, Jamaica and graduated from Seneca College. She was the middle child born to the late Charles Lyn and Neuk Keow Chin, along with her older brother the late Edward Lyn and younger brother Moses Easton Lyn.

Peggy will be forever remembered by her beloved husband Simon Sylvester Shim; adoring children Francis, Gregory, and Rory; caring and supportive in-laws Don Ryner, Sharon Hunter and Magdalene Furukawa; and loving grandchildren Laila, Erika, Mariko, and Satomi.

Peggy emigrated from Jamaica to Canada in 1974 and worked as a bookkeeper at GRT and Birde Marketing. She sang in her church choir at Epiphany of our Lord and St Thomas the Apostle. She enjoyed reading and doing crossword puzzles.

Friends and family are invited to attend a viewing on Thursday, October 10th, 2019, at 5 PM at Chapel Ridge Funeral Home, Markham, ON and her funeral on Friday, October 11th, 2019, at 10 AM at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church at 14 Highgate Drive, Markham, ON. The interment will be held shortly after.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in memory of Peggy be directed to "The Palliative Care Unit," in care of The Sunnybrook Foundation, 2075 Bayview Avenue, Toronto, Ontario, M4N 3M5. 416-480-4483.
