Woo MaryseWOO, Maryse (Drouin) Woo - It’s with great sadness that we share that Maryse passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at Sunnybrook Hospital on December 12, 2019 at the age of 56. After a long battle with cancer, during which she never stopped fighting and always stayed positive, she’s now at peace.

Maryse leaves behind her loving husband of 32 years, Vincent Woo, her children Geneviève (Will Heeman) and Sebastien and her grandson Daxton, whom she cherished.

Maryse joins her parents in heaven. Missing her are her siblings Sylvie (Daniel), Patrick (Josée), brothers-in-law Eugene (Florence), Dennis (May), parents-in-law Thomas & Silvia. She’ll also be missed by her nieces & nephews Jennifer, Matthew, Félix, Anita, Sharina, Stephanie, Anaïs, Jérôme.

Born in Victoriaville, Québec, Maryse was proudly francophone. She bravely left home for university in New Brunswick where she met her husband Vincent and moved to Ontario upon graduation and built a life and beautiful family here.

Maryse knew from a young age that she wanted to spend her life helping people, it was her calling to be a nurse. In her work at Scarborough General Hospital, she impacted the lives of thousands of patients across many departments including the ICU, step-down ICU, & orthopedics among many.

At home and to those who knew her, Maryse had a zest for life that was infectious, and friends will remember her quick smile and impossibly positive attitude. Maryse loved her family, food and new experiences. Along with her family, Maryse saw the world enjoying countless trips to Europe, Asia, across North America, New Zealand and cruises to all corners of the globe. She loved to play host for the holidays and her family grew up benefiting from these cultural traditions she imparted.

Visitation will be held at Marshall Funeral Home, Richmond Hill, on Thursday December 19th from 5:00pm to 8:00pm. Funeral mass will be held at St. Mary Immaculate Catholic Church, 10295 Yonge St, Richmond Hill on Friday, December 20th at 10:30am with reception following. Private burial will take place.
