Arteaga MikeARTEAGA, Michael Alexander - September 29, 1957 -  February 4, 2020  - After a hard-fought battle against cancer, Mike passed away peacefully at the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre in Toronto surrounded by his loving family.

He is survived by his loving wife Liz, their sons, David, Ryan, and Michael, daughter Meghan, daughter-in-law Brittany, grandson Isaac, mother Beatrize Albornoz, his brothers and sisters, in-laws, nieces and nephews, and cousins.

Mike was a loving husband and father who always did what was best for his family and everyone he loved. He was the life of the party, and whether he was pushing you into the pool at one of the famous Arteaga pool parties or spinning you around on the dance floor, you always remembered it when you had a fun time with him. He created fond and often hilarious memories in the hearts of everyone he touched, and it was always easy to reminisce and laugh with him about those memories years or even decades later.

Mike will be greatly missed and remembered as someone who you could always seek out for advice, a laugh, or instructions on how to fix basically anything. He loved to travel, lay on the beach, sing songs, tell stories, try new things, and make new friends.
Mike’s kids will always remember him as the dad that got things done, and they wouldn’t be the people they are today without the dedication he showed to his family and all of the hard work he poured into giving them the best lives possible. Liz will always cherish the memories she and Mike made while building a life together and raising a family, and the love they shared will live on through those memories.

Thank you Mike for making us laugh and giving us plenty of stories to tell and memories to hold in our hearts. Your family and friends will miss you more than words can say, and we take comfort in knowing you are at peace.

A special thank you to Dr. Robert Kridel and the staff at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, the palliative care unit at Princess Margaret, and to all the family and friends who had given their love and support to Mike and his family.

A celebration of life memorial service will be held on Sunday, February 23rd, 2020 from 1 to 4 pm at The Jam Factory: 2 Matilda
Street, Toronto ON, M4M 1L9.
