Garner AngelaGARNER, Angela - (April 20, 1942March 1, 2020) -

Angela loved to laugh. She was a fun, generous and independent woman working as a secretary and executive assistant most of her long career.

She was born in Leicester, England after her mother was evacuated from London during the war in 1942, subsequently living in Wales. After the war, she and her mum moved back to London for the rest of her childhood where she attended Catford Girls School and secretarial college. She immigrated to Toronto, Canada in May 1967, a beautiful 25 year old taking an exciting voyage across the Atlantic.

In Toronto, she made many good friends especially through her love of jazz and her cultural connection to the UK. Most importantly, she was mother to Gillian and Andrew. She loved us, worried for us and provided for us. She is greatly loved and missed.

Angela is survived by her daughter Gillian and son-in-law Aaron and her grandchildren Aidan and Jackson Shields; her son Andrew Garner, her sister Christine and cousin Vivienne.

Help us celebrate Angela’s life March 13th from 2:30 - 5:30 pm at Duke of York, Prince Arthur Room 36 Prince Arthur Ave. Yorkville, Toronto, M5R 1B2.

Arrangements with Giffen-Mack funeral home, DANFORTH chapel, Toronto.
