Dempsey WayneDEMPSEY, Wayne Andrew - We mourn the sudden and unexpected death of our wonderful son, brother and friend on March 5, 2020.

Wayne Andrew Dempsey was born in Montreal, Quebec on June 13, 1987. It was a warm and sunny day. He was the first born child of Paul and Althea Dempsey. From the moment he was born he brought them great joy and happiness, as well as to his extended family.

In 1989, Wayne welcomed his new sister and life-long best friend, Raena. They were the best of buddies and “partners in crime” who shared toys, experiences, friends and secrets. In 1994, Wayne and Raena welcomed little sister Soroya. Wayne always looked out for his little sister, and she adored him.

Wayne enjoyed spending time with his family, including sleepovers with Aunt Ronda or Aunt Jill. He especially loved our day trips to the beach – carefree days of fun and food. His interests were varied – astronomy, science fiction, music, hockey, skateboarding, reading, writing.

Wayne attended D’Arcy McGee Catholic Elementary School. He loved his school and his classmates and participated enthusiastically in many school events. He attended Marshall McLuhan Catholic Secondary School where he was on the honour roll and played trombone in the band.

For Grade 12 he attended Lakefield College School in Lakefield, Ontario where he made many new friends and played on the varsity soccer and hockey teams. He was accepted to Queens University and studied philosophy there for two years.

Wayne worked in many different fields but was particularly active in the music scene as a DJ. In 2017 he produced an album of electronic music entitled “Monster Quest” which was available on iTunes.

Everyone who knew Wayne loved him. He was exceptionally sociable and non-judgmental. He was a remarkable person.
May God welcome him to His heavenly family.

Visitation will be at Bernardo Funeral Home, Dufferin chapel, Toronto on Friday March 13, 2020 from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Funeral Mass to be held at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 640 Glenholme Avenue Toronto on Saturday, March 14, 2020 at 10 a.m. Interment after the Mass .

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Sashbear Foundation https://sashbear.org in memory of Wayne.
