Neto JoseNETO, Jose Garcia - It is with heavy hearts to announce that Jose (Joe) Neto of Toronto (York) passed away at 9:01pm, Saturday March 7, 2020 after reaching the age of 81 years. After months of failing health, Joe passed peacefully at Sunnybrook Hospital with his beloved daughters at his bedside.

Joe was born on November 12, 1938 in Ponta Garca, (Portugal) to Mother Rosa Isabel and Father Jose D’Araujo Neto.

Joe married the love of his life Maria De Deus and had a family that include 3 beautiful daughters, Natalie, Helena and Aida.

Looking to provide a better life for this young family, Joe left his home and family and came to Canada where he worked laying foundations for buildings, saving up and eventually bringing them to Toronto where the family settled.

Joe was a good father and worked hard, long hours to provide his family with the best life possible.

Joe’s loves include his late wife Maria, his extended family, long walks, coffee with his friends and his garden that includes vines filled with grapes and towering tomato plants.

Joe is survived by his 3 daughters and 4 grandchildren (Andrew, Vincent, Sydney and Selina)

Joe was a strong, proud man respected by those who had the privilege to know him. He will be missed.

Visitation will be held at Cardinal Funeral Home, Bathurst Chapel, Toronto on March 12, 2020 from 2:00 PM - 4:00 and 5:30 PM - 8:30 PM. The service will take place at St. Agnes Roman Catholic Church, 15 Grace St, Toronto on March 13, 2020 at 9:30 AM

If desired, memorial donations to Prostate Cancer Canada would be appreciated by the family.
