Mohanto JaydevMOHANTO, Jaydev - Jaydev Mohanto, 56, passed peacefully on Wednesday, March 18, 2020, at William Osler Health – Brampton Civic Hospital following a cardiac arrest and stroke.

With his passing, he leaves behind his strong and loving family, his wife of 21 years, Khirodamani Mohanta, as well as his two children: Kuldeep and Mohandeep Mohanta.

Jaydev was born the youngest of six in a simple, yet peaceful village (Budadhara) in the heart of Odisha.

He lived with his large family, late Father (Krushna Chandra Mohanta); Mother (Saraswati Mohanta); two older brothers (Purnachandra Mohanta and Dinabandhu Mohanta); as well as three sisters (eldest – late. Urmila Mohanta, late. Ashamani Mohanta, Suchitra Mohanta) while farming the beautiful fields of Budadhara. He lived his childhood and teenage years here until years came by, and he was arranged to meet his wife (Khirodamani) from another lovely village Balabhadrapur. From then on, they were married, and he later immigrated to Canada in the hopes of a better life for his family.

In Canada, Jaydev wished to pursue (Electronic Technician) studies at Humber College while working hard with a full-time job and taking care of his family. After he settled his career goals, he finalized his marriage details and brought his wife to Canada in 1991. After he supported his wife to finish high school and college (Dental Assistant), he decided to be a more family-oriented father, so he chose to work a traditional labour job in KIK (custom products) where he worked for more than 15 years without an accident, without complaint, or issue. As he chose to work during the nights, his wife worked during the daytime to care for his family. Regardless of fate, he was given, he was an incredibly hardworking employee, dedicated father, humble brother, and overall a cherished soul.

Towards the latter end of his life, he lived his remaining years in the home he spent his life working towards in Brampton, Ontario, with his wife and two kids. He was known to his neighbours as a kind, caring, and very creative person. He owned a 1999 Honda Civic LX that he had for two decades and always had a great deal of care towards, as well as his 2015 Nissan Rogue SV. His passion for simple cars was shared by his two children as well.

He was finally cremated Riverside Cemetery with assistance from Newediuk Funeral Home, with no memorial service, but with a private family prayer session (Puja).
