CHOLOCK, Margaret 'Rose' - (1936 - 2020) - God called Margaret Rose on April 4th, 2020.

Beloved wife and best friend of Michael. Loving and proud Mother of Darren (Jennifer). Adoring Nanny of Quinnlin. She will forever be missed by her relatives, family and many friends.

Known by her friends and family as Rose she was a constant to all who loved her most.

Born in 1936 in Sydney, Nova Scotia where she spent her formative years before moving to Toronto where she met and fell in love with fellow East Coaster Mike. They married in 1959 and enjoyed 61 wonderful years building a life together.

Rose worked at General Electric before she took on her most prized role as Mother to Darren.

She loved hearing about and watching her son and grand daughter's accomplishments and had many fond memories driving car loads of Darren’s friends to hockey practice and sporting events.

She loved marathon phone calls with friends and hearing about everyone’s coming and goings. Rose was a caring and compassionate woman and loved animals and people alike. She had an extra special spot for her long time fury friend Rocky who also recently passed.

Rose loved watching the Young and Restless, and the Toronto Maple Leafs and her favourite hockey player Curtis Joseph "Cujo". She was so happy when her son gifted her with Cujo's new book. She enjoyed her summers the most by heading to the trailer every weekend to enjoy fun times with family and friends.

Rose didn’t always have it easy. She struggled with health issues at times but that never deterred her from living her best life. She always had a big smile for you whenever you walked in to the room with a sense of humour and infectious laughter that was second to none.

Most recently she lived for her daily visits from her devoted husband Mike, who would meet her daily for lunch and a quick chat.

A special thank you goes out to the team at the Harold and Grace Baker Centre, and in particular Lauren, for taking such good care of Rose. We are eternally grateful for the support, care and compassion Rose received in your care.

In lieu of flowers the family is accepting donations in Rose’s honour to the Arthritis Foundation or hospital/long term care facility of your choosing for the purchase of safety equipment for care workers who are working tirelessly to save lives during this pandemic.

For the safety of the family, many friends and staff, there will not be any public or private family visitation at the funeral home at this time. A memorial will be scheduled at a later date. We encourage all friends and family to leave a message on the memory wall online on the Vescio funeral home website.
