Palladino IrmaPALLADINO, Irma - It is with great sorrow to announce that Irma Palladino has passed away on April 11, 2020 at the age of 73.

She will forever be missed by her loving husband, Angelo and devoted daughters Christina and Gisella (Tom), beloved grand-daughters Isabella and Laura.

Irma will always be remembered by her loyal sister Louise (Sergio) and sisters-in-law Maria Pia (Giosue) and Clara (Antonio).

She will be held dear in the hearts of her many relatives and friends. Jesus welcomed Irma into his loving arms on Easter weekend.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Nicola, Maria and her brothers, Antonino and Alberigo.

Irma came to Canada as a little girl with her family from Italy. Her family thrived in Toronto as she grew up with many family and friends. Irma cherished her Italian culture and her small town of Sora. She was a member of the Italo-Canadian Youth Club and got involved in many cultural and Church events. She loved baking and cooking traditional recipes at home and spoke in the local dialect to keep connected to her roots.

She was also very committed to her Catholic faith. She took part in many Church groups and choirs in Etobicoke and Woodbridge. Irma gave so much love to her family and friends. She was a very loyal wife, mother, Nonna, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, cousin and friend to all who knew her.

Irma loved singing (a gifted songbird), music, dancing rock'n’roll, cooking great food, fashion, entertaining many guests and enjoying life!

While she was fun and whimsical, Irma will be most remembered for her gentle and pure soul. She was quick to laugh and quick to forgive. She was a joy to be around and was able to find contentment no matter what she was doing. Throughout her life she was such a compassionate person because she always thought the best of everyone. She was a firm believer of humanity, the environment and that we will always find small acts of kindness in this world.

A chapel and cemetery service will be private because of the restrictions at the moment. A mass and memorial service will take place at a later date to be announced, when all of Irma’s family and friends are able to join and celebrate her life together.

We want to thank all the staff, nurses and doctors at Etobicoke General Hospital 7th Floor and the Palliative Care unit for their care for the last two months while Irma was being treated for her illness especially when her family could not visit her because of the COVID-19 restrictions. Our hearts also go out to all the families who experienced being separated from their loved ones during this unbelievable time.
