Lorne was a beautiful man who gave love and received love. He was a provider, a nurturer, a teacher, and a protector. He was a husband, son, brother, uncle, grandfather and a great grandfather.
Lorne had a proud career with 35 years in the fire service. Lorne started in 1958 with the Township, Borough and then City of North York retiring in 1993 as a Platoon Chief. He was also with King City Fire Department for many years serving in all ranks including King City Fire Chief for several years. He was very well respected in the fire service and as a true leader would, he set a trail for others to walk along and guided his firefighters along the way.
He is well known for his sense of humour, he always had a joke to bring a smile to the faces he was with.
In Lieu of flowers the family has asked that you carry that honour forward to make someone smile. Please buy a coffee or lunch for a stranger, smile at someone who needs one or do an act of kindness that could change a life. If you wish to do a financial donation please do so with the charity of your choice and think of Lorne when you do.
A celebration of life will be planned later in the year.
