Donachy JoeDONACHY, Joseph - (Jan 1, 1948- Apr 22, 2020) - It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Joe in his 73rd year. He passed very peacefully in hospital with family by his side.

Much loved husband and best friend for 51 years to Margaret Donachy nee McPhillips.

Incredible father of Caroline, Nicole (James) and Patrick. Loving and supportive Grandpa to London, Ania, Aidenne and Cohen. Dear brother of Kay, Vicky, Anne and Tommy (Kathy).

Predeceased by parents, Patrick and Mona and siblings, Bill, Margo, Francis, Pat and Marie. Special brother in law to the McPhillips family. Amazing uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Born in Glasgow, Scotland, he and Margaret were married in 1969 and immigrated to Canada in 1975 with their four year old daughter, Caroline. Joe was an avid soccer fan and coached youth soccer for many years. He had a passion for playing darts which earned him many trophies. A great story teller, his one of a kind humour and  enthusiasm had the children wide eyed with anticipation, hanging on every word.

Joe was always the unrivaled party games master and led many memorable gatherings full of laughter with those he loved. Joe will be sadly missed for his honesty, gentle manner and kindness.

We are overwhelmed with the love of family, friends and neighbours for the many floral gifts, cards, and food.

Cremation has taken place at Holy Cross Crematorium and a private celebration will be held at a later date.

Donations in Joe’s memory may be made to the Lung Association.

The family are so grateful to the staff at the Brantford General Hospital, especially those on B-7. You are all angels.
