Arnold Violet BettyARNOLD, Violet Elizabeth 'Betty' - On Tuesday May 12th, 2020 at 6:44PM, Violet Elizabeth Arnold passed away peacefully at West Park Retirement home in her 91st year.

Elizabeth, or Betty as she was known to friends, married Lorne Arnold in 1951 and had 5 children, 3 Boys and 2 girls: Robert, Shawn, Scott, Maureen and Jennifer. They had 11 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

There are many words that come to mind when thinking about Mom, each of these will mean different things to each of you, but all are memories of Mom.
Holiday dinners together with all of the family with lots of food and fun around the table.
The bench on Humbercrest Blvd that always had room for an extra friend at dinner
Cream puffs with grapefruit and empire cookies.
Fishing or just paddling in the red canoe on Lynx Lake.
Happy hour followed by a great dinner and piece of pie at the cottage where all friends and neighbors were welcome to join in.
Uno, pig or poker card games.
Driving Uncle Shawn’s 4-wheeler through Mom’s garden at the cottage and getting in trouble.
There are many, many more and I am sure you have your own.

As our family gathered around the computer on a Zoom call on the day following her passing, we had only fun happy stories to share around Mom. She supported each of us in her own way and will be missed by all.

You are at peace now Mom, we know you are having a tea with our dad.

Thanks to everyone for their well wishes and we will be in touch when we can all gather to host a celebration of life of Violet Elizabeth Arnold.
