Mintz BlairMINTZ, Blair Douglas - On Wednesday, May 13, 2020, Blair Douglas Mintz, loving husband and best friend of Jackie Mintz, father of three children and stepfather to three step children, entered into the peace of heaven at the age of 71 at his home in Newmarket.

Blair was born in Haliburton County Hospital on Jan 28, 1949 to Clifford and Priscilla Mintz. He was the youngest of four children.

After finishing school in Haliburton County, Blair moved to Toronto to pursue work where he settled and started his family. He eventually moved North to Keswick to enjoy life on Lake Simcoe. Blair's aptitude for technical and mechanics led him to various careers from computer repair to truck driver and finally carpenter. While living in Newmarket, Blair met his loving wife Jackie with whom he spent 16 wonderful years.

Blair will be remembered for his passion for adventure and his love of barbecuing. He filled his spare time with motorbike and snowmobile trips and later camping trips with his family. He was a talented mechanic and a skilled carpenter and he consistently improved the world around him. His generosity touched those who came into his life and his smile was infectious.

Above all, Blair loved his family and his church community. His love of the Lord and devotion to church will ensure him a very special place at God's right hand.

Blair is survived by wife Jackie Mintz, sister Donna, brother Ronnie and children Chris, Dwayne, Elaine, stepchildren Rory, Ryan and Bailey and six grandchildren. Blair was predeceased by brother Gary.

A service will be held at Taylor Funeral Home in Newmarket on Wednesday, May 20th by invite only due to social restrictions. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Family request is for everyone to wear bright coloured clothing for Blair. For those not able to attend, the funeral service will be available through live stream broadcast

Memorial donations in the memory of Blair can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
