Sevcik PeterSEVCIK, Peter Thomas - Peter Sevcik was suddenly taken from us too soon on the 17th of May, 2020 at the young age of 58.

However, during his life, he was able to touch the hearts of so many people who are deeply saddened by this loss. Peter is survived by his mother, Lucy; his daughters, Christina and Jacqueline; his partner Lena; and his sister, Valerie.

Born in Montreal, Quebec to Lucy and Sydney Sevcik, Peter was a smiling little baby who brought great joy to his family. He grew up with a fascination for animals, mechanics and cars, and had an inquisitive and sharp mind that had an understanding of the world around him. He carried these passions with him throughout his life, and anyone who knew him would say that he could hold the best conversation about any topic, and could fix just about anything.

For 23 years Peter and his former wife and friend Rohenie raised a family- two beautiful girls Jacqueline and Christina. Both girls would go on to make their Dad so proud as independent, intelligent women. They know this because he shared his love for them with everyone he would meet. This part of his life was filled with a huge family, weekends at the cottage, tinkering with his outboard motors and working hard to give his family the life he knew they deserved. Not without trials and tribulations, but in the end, with true purpose.

For Peter, it was the small pleasures in life that made it all worth while. Not a simple mind, but a simple and honest life. Instead of judgement, he practiced compassion and understanding. Instead of greed, he showed generosity.

What we all know of Peter is that he loved his hobby and found his niche as part of the AOMCI. There, he made great friends who supported him until his last days. His family is grateful that he found understanding, happiness and love in the people around him.

It’s difficult to summarize a life so full as Peter’s. The more you learn about who he was, the more you come to admire the man he strived to be. It is a tremendous loss that we say goodbye to Peter Thomas Sevcik for so many reasons. As he would for us, we wish him peace in his next adventure.

Peter, Dad, we will miss you more than you’ll ever know.

Due to ongoing circumstances, a ceremony for Peter will be postponed to a later time. In the meantime, if you would like to share a memory or pay your respects, please do so on the website of Giffen-Mack funeral home, Scarborough (West Hill) chapel.
