Findlay RobertFINDLAY, Robert John Hugh 'Bob' - The family of Robert John Hugh (Bob) Findlay is sad to announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather and friend on Sunday, June 7th, 2020 peacefully at home after a long illness.

Robert is survived by his wife Norma of 48 years, four children Robert (Sara) Manly, Australia, Robin (Dan) Newmarket, Ontario, Alycia (Mike) Doylestown, Ohio & Ryan (Hanieh) Toronto, Ontario, four grandchildren Liam Robert, Mackenzie, Carter and Cooper, and dog Poundcake.

Robert was born in Montreal, Quebec on October 27th, 1941 to the late Lillian and Alexander Findlay. Robert is also survived by his sister Beverly and was predeceased by his brothers Roy and Stephen and sister Susan.

Robert grew up in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and attended St. Mary’s University on a football scholarship. His adult life was spent living in the Toronto area.

He lived a full life and was fortunate enough to have had the opportunity to travel the world. Robert loved nothing more than spending time with his family, recently accompanying the family to Ireland for St. Patrick’s Day and Hawaii for his son’s wedding. He was an avid golfer, and a lifelong fan of the Toronto Blue Jays and the Montreal Canadiens.

Robert‘s family would like to thank the PSW’s and nurses of St. Elizabeth for the love and support that they have shown to him over the last few months. A special thank you to Dr. M. Orava for always being there for Robert when he was healthy. as well as when his health started to decline. We would also like to thank the staff of Proresp for their ongoing support and care of Robert over the past several years.

In lieu of flowers the family is asking for donations to be made to the OSPCA as Robert was a huge animal lover. Arrangements with Roadhouse and Rose funeral home, Newmarket.
