Reid AliceREID, Alice Elizabeth (nee Currie) - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Alice Elizabeth Reid (nee Currie). She was born on June 9th, 1926 and left us 94 years later, on her birthday: June 9th, 2020.

Alice is reunited with the love of her life, James Reid, after surviving a broken heart for over 13 months without him.

She was born in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia to a father and mother who were highly regarded in their community for their various roles and contributions. She studied at both Francis Xavier and McGill University and became a Bacteriologist. She worked in her field until she became a mother, and at that time decided to leave the profession to raise her family.

She loved to entertain and cook; many people were blessed by these talents over the decades. Alice was the best friend a person could ask for; listening without judgement, praying without ceasing, and helping where necessary. Humans and butterflies alike were drawn to her beautiful disposition.

Alice leaves behind a family who admired and adored her for her kindness, strength, compassion, humour, generosity and love of our Lord.

She was predeceased by her sisters Genevieve, Kathleen and brother Emmett. She was a devoted mother to Terry and Laurie and their spouses Karen and Aalyeth. She was a loving sister and sister-in-law to John Hugh and Roberta Currie and her brother Emmett’s wife, Bernadette.

She was the best grandmother to Melanie, Christine and Dana and their spouses Jason, Dave and Dhiren. Most recently, she was a doting great-grandmother to Ayla, Paige, Eli, Zoe and Baby Khatri who will join us soon.

There will be no service held for Alice, but she will be remembered and memorialized in our thoughts and prayers forever. Arrangements with Scott funeral home, Brampton chapel.
