Dosaj ShashiDOSAJ, Shashi Kanta (Sud) - B.A.(Music), B.Ed (English) - Passed away on Friday, July 17, 2020.

Daughter of Ram Kishan Sud and Ratan Devi Sud.

Wife of Gyan Swaroop Dosaj.

Mother of Mr. Sameer Dosaj and Dr. Seema Dosaj.

Sister of Dr. Rajinder Kumar Sud, Mrs. Kusum Lata Sud, Mrs. Sarla Sud (late), Mr. Lajpat Rai Sud (late) and Mr. Narinder Nath Sud(late).

We mourn the loss of a gentle, caring and kind soul who bore all her burdens quietly and with grace. She was raised by her loving siblings under very difficult circumstances, never knew the love of a parent, but gave love and laughter freely to all those who entered her life.

Through her many personal sacrifices, Shashi ensured the health, safety and happiness of her son with special needs. Her guidance, love and support enabled her daughter to complete her Degree in Medicine and Residency at McGill. She devoted herself to the well being of her husband and her children, but also understood the importance of caring for her own health.

In 1960, she married a gentleman from Nairobi. She was one of the founding members of the charitable organization, Women of India Auxiliary, and served with them for 23 years.

She retired from teaching in 1999, and in 2003 relocated with her family to Toronto, where she continued her involvement with national and local charitable organizations.

She instilled in her family the importance of humility and grace, respect of family, a moral compass, higher education, discipline, a positive outlook, humour, gratitude, service to others, and God.

She will be missed by many but never forgotten.

My beautiful, intelligent, elegant, sophisticated, vivacious and stoic Mama; you suffered greatly with such grace and fortitude. My successes are your accomplishments. May your soul be at peace.

Service has taken place on Monday, July 20th, 2020.

In Memory of Shashi, donations can be made to: SEWA CANADA.
