MELOCHE, Rachel Laurin - Passed away at age of 98 on August 31, 2020.
She is survived by her son Alain (Nana Brown) and her granddaughter Sarah Meloche Dougans (Grant).
She is also survived by her great-granddaughter Isla.
She was predeceased by her husband Roger, sister Laurence, and brothers Raymond and Robert.
She is also remembered by Frances Dubroy, a close family friend and neighbor from Gatineau.
Due to her husband’s 30-years of service in the RCAF, she lived in many communities in Quebec and Ontario. Unlike many women of her generation, Rachel started her own successful business, Studio Rachel, after attending photography school.
She was also a volunteer at the National Gallery of Canada for many years, photographing speakers and lecturers.
The family would like to thank the dedicated staff at the Dunfield Retirement Residence and Harmony Hills Care Community.
The family asks in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the Alzheimer Society or the National Gallery of Canada.
A private family gathering with interment will be held at a later date in Montreal.
