Di Caro MariaDi CARO, Maria Grazia - Maria Grazia Di Caro, aged 90, passed away peacefully at her home on the morning of September 25th, 2020, after fighting a long and heroic battle with cancer.

Born in Delia, Sicily on the 30th of June, 1930, she bravely left home in search of better life in Canada. Arriving in 1954 with her husband Stefano and young son Diego, they were soon joined by her second child, Joseph born here in Canada nine days later.

Ahead of her time, she balanced a successful career as a baker and cake decorator while raising a family.

While she and Stefano worked tirelessly to provide for their family, her greatest joy was nurturing both their stomachs and souls with her culinary talents and love and attention. She continued this later in life moving to Mississauga in her retirement to help raise her grandsons and lovingly nursing her husband during his long battle with Parkinson’s.

A true matriarch, her love of life and generous spirit was the lynchpin that brought her extended family together to celebrate all the big moments and milestones. Quick to make friends she was beloved around the neighbourhood for always providing a smile, good conversation and a sweet treat.

She is survived by her sons, her daughter in-law Mary (nee D’Orazio), and her grandsons Diego S.S. and Michael.

Arrangements with Scott funeral home, Mississauga chapel.
