Hainer MargueritteHAINER, Margueritte - Margueritte Hainer passed peacefully on 23 October, 2020, less than a month shy of her 95th birthday.

Cherished wife of the late Charles Albert Hainer.

Eldest child of Herbert and Mary [nee Williamson] Bartholomew. Predeceased by brother Philip; survived by brother Kenneth and sister Sylvia [Nieman].

As a loving mother Margueritte is survived by children Ralph, Randall, Diane, their spouses Monica, Eva, and Glenn [Hardie], grandchildren Geoffrey, Kirstin, Sarah, Anne, Rebecca, Meagan, and great-grandchildren Raeya, Emory, Isabel, Fiona, Eloise, and Gwendolen.

Margueritte was a proud and passionate resident of the home she and Al built in Scarborough in 1948 and the small cottage they later purchased and expanded in Muskoka. Margueritte performed volunteer work at Centenary Hospital in Scarborough for more than 40 years and assisted at the Scarborough Village Recreation Centre near the Campbell homestead on Markham Road for a good many years as well.

A great talker, Marg loved to tell tales of her travels at home and abroad, first with Al and later with friends. She enjoyed playing cribbage and other card games with her children and eldest grandchildren, and played social bridge and euchre with friends in their homes.

A private cremation has been arranged through the Paul O’Connor Funeral Home. Interment at Resthaven Memorial Gardens is planned for the near future.

In case you’re wondering, we understand that Marg and Al have, after 27 years, joyfully resumed their beloved ballroom dancing
