Gross HelmutGROSS, Helmut - It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Helmut Karl Gross on December 1st , 2020, in hospital following complications from pneumonia, in his 91st year.

Beloved husband of Theresia (nee Follmer) for 61 years, much loved father of Michael, Richard and Wendy. He was adored by his son in law, Graham Fisher.

Dearly loved Opa to Amanda, Caitlin (Bill), Matthew, Kailey and Brennen. Opi to “soon to arrive” great granddaughter, Isla.

He will be deeply missed by his brothers in Germany, Reinhard, Gerhard and Rudi (deceased) and by his extended family and friends. He will be especially missed by his friends from St. Patrick’s German parish in Toronto and the Kolping society of Toronto, friends who became more like family to us.

We like to think that Helmut is already “fixing things and puttering around” in heaven, no doubt “squirrelling" things away as he was a master at it. He loved to play his accordion for everyone and we know he’s got the party going already in heaven.

He loved the outdoors, the planet, loved to swim in his lake and the oceans, and to build the most enormous bonfires at the cottage. When Covid is no longer an issue, we will celebrate Helmut and his life with a bonfire and friends/family when it is safe to do so.

We take comfort in knowing he is at peace, no longer in pain, and that he left us peacefully, the way he always said he wanted to... gone but never forgotten, forever in our hearts and memories.

Due to Covid restrictions a private service will be held for family only. Arrangements with Ogden funeral home, Scarborough.

If desired, donations to a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated
