PELLING, George William - At the glorious age of 98, George passed away peacefully, holding the hand of his wonderful friend, Shelley, at Credit Valley Hospital on January 9, 2021.
George was the loving husband of Ivy Pelling for 68 years before her passing in 2018.
He will be remembered for his bravery, sacrifice,and service in the Royal Canadian Navy, serving 4 years on the North Atlantic during WWII.
He continued his service to country and community as a member of the Streetsville Legion, a founder of the Naval Cadets in Streetsville, a Freemason of the Masonic Lodge, and as a member of the Streetsville Trinity Anglican Church.
George was loved and will be remembered for his easy smile, a "great" outlook on life, and a genuine caring for family and friends. George will be sadly missed by his 'special friends' Shelley and Kevin Austin, their family, Michaela, Samantha (Eric) and Krystal (Adam).
He was blessed with the love and respect of his many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will follow at a future date.
