Mesure DoreenMESURE, Doreen Beatrice Ivy (Thoms) - (March 25th, 1930 - January 20th, 2021) -

Mum passed away peacefully at the Cedarvale Lodge, Keswick on January 20, 2021, in her 91st year.

Cherished wife of Royston George Mesure, a decorated WWll Naval Veteran, and married for 72 years.

Loving mother of Debbie (David), Christine, and Michael (Ann). Proud Nanny of Christopher (Jennelle), Jennifer (Alasdair), Brittany (Curtis), Joshua (Alyssa), Brandon (Ricki), Jeremy and Julianna.

Affectionately missed by her great grandchildren, Atlyn, Weston, Ryker and Evan, as well as nieces, nephews, long-term friends and her family in Great Britain.

Predeceased by her parents William and Ethel, and brother Derrick (Joyce), her parents-in-law Cyril and Peggy, and brother-in-law, a WWII Air Force Veteran, Kenneth (widow Margaret).

Doreen was devoted to her husband, and she loved her family dearly. It brought her great joy to bring her family together during the holidays and she made delicious meals. She treasured her many dogs and their companionship.

Mum nurtured her gardens with an abundance of love, as she had a gifted “green thumb.” Mum also took great pleasure in feeding wild birds, racoons, and foxes. She spent her winters in Florida with Dad, where they walked hand in hand along the beach.

Arrangements entrusted with Roadhouse and Rose funeral home, Newmarket. Mum’s wish was to be cremated. A Celebration of life will follow at a later date.

If desired, donations in Mum’s memory may be made to a non-profit Animal Shelter of your choice, FLAP Canada, or to the Tanz Centre for research in Neurodengenerative Diseases; (U of T).
