Florio GuglielmoFLORIO, Guglielmo - Guglielmo Florio, aged 78, loving husband, father and nonno passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday February 17, 2021.

He was born on March 12, 1942 in Aiello Colabro Cozenza, Italy.

Gugleilmo is survived by Maria, his wife of 56 years and his children John (Shelley), Frank (Ingird), Antonia (Derek), Enzo and Danny (Jamie).

Guglielmo’s greatest blessing was his eight grandchildren Jenna, Peyton, Christian, Ryan, Ethan, Graydon, Matthew and Emma.

Guglielmo is survived by his brother Pietro (Ida), his sister Concetta (Giovanni) and will be sorely missed by many nieces and nephews.

Guglielmo came to Canada in 1962, married the love of his life Maria and settled in Sault Ste. Marie where they raised their family. He was not afraid of hard work and spent most of his work life as a general laborer in the lumber industry. He loved to work with his hands in his garden, wine making and fixing things.

Later in his life he enjoyed traveling to Australia to see his daughter and her family and watching his grandchildren’s sporting and dancing activities.

Guglielmo is now at peace and reunited with his parents Carlo and Anna (Coccimiglio), his sister Ida (Settimio) and brothers Francesco (Ida), Vittorio, Mario and Settimio (survived by Louisa).

The family want to thank all the staff at Trillium Health Partners in Mississauga and especially Emily who looked after him during his final hours.

Due to Covid restrictions, the family will be holding a private viewing and service. Arrangements entrusted with Scott funeral home, Mississauga chapel.

Those who wish to remember Guglielmo in a special way, can make a gift to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.
