Watson Gilbert GibWATSON, Gilbert 'Gib' - Gib passed away suddenly and peacefully at home on February 18, 2021 in his 90th year with his wife and soulmate, Lila Mae (Lou) by his side.

Married for over 64 years, they were devoted partners and best friends. Loving father to Debbie Drape (Horst), Marie Miller (Bob) and grandfather to Shawn (Kim), Christopher, Matthew, Tristan, Tianna, Peter (Susan; Preston and Spencer).

Brother-in-law to Jim Beatty (Ann) and Doris Watson. Beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, Bill and Annie Watson, brother John, sisters Mildred (George) and Marilyn (George).

Gib was a licensed mechanic, garage owner, partner in Stirling Towing and driver/trainer at LB Towing before he retired in 1997.

He loved the cottage, sitting on the deck feeding the birds and chipmunks, boating and playing bid euchre.

“Dad, we will miss your infectious laugh, especially when you were ‘ticking off’ Mom because you wouldn’t let her play her hand.” Affectionately known as “D” he leaves a void we cannot fill but his love stays with us forever.

The family appreciates the care and concern of the staff and friends at The Schlegel Village of Taunton Mills.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, there will not be a service at this time. A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to Ogden Funeral Home.

A donation in Gib’s memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of your choice.
