THOMPSON, Carolyn Ann - We are saddened by the sudden passing on February 27, 2021, of Carolyn Ann Thompson, born October 17, 1937, after an accident in her home.
Her enthusiasm, kindness and good nature will be missed.
She is survived by sisters Mary Chisholm, and Frances Skitcko (Mike) and brother Ken (Marion), Carolyn lived life to the fullest. An avid skier and squash player, she cycled solo through England in the 70's.
She was a committed teacher who won admiration of her students.
She taught at Western Tech most of her career, retiring in 1996. In her passion for art, theatre and music she never missed an AGO exhibition, a season at Stratford or Shaw or a concert at Tafelmusik or Mooredale.
An artist of fine embroidery, a sewer, knitter, and watercolourist, she served as president of Toronto Guild of Stitchery and was active at the Textile Museum of Canada. She loved travel, enjoying the exotic Turkey and Libya, as well as the beauty of Europe.
And she loved Toronto. Always one for sharing, she arrived with a special gift in her bag.
Stalwart, chipper, enthusiastic, loyal and charitable, she lived a generous life.
We remember Carolyn and mourn her departure from this world.
Cremation will take place on March 9th.
A life celebration will follow in the summer.
