Manley PeterMANLEY, Peter John  - Born on February 6, 1937 to Frank and Ruth (White) Manley. Passed away peacefully, on April 7, 2021, aged 84.

Married to Sandra (Harrison) for over 61 years. He was a devoted husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, cousin, and friend.

As children, Peter and brother Frank lost their father to cancer and were raised by their mother.

From his early teens, Peter worked to help support the family.

He was in the automotive industry for his entire career, excelling as a mechanic, business owner, and service manager. He loved to drag-race cars, fish, travel in Canada, and buy and sell antiques.

He played hockey well into his fifties and skated until his eighties.

He personified positivity through words and actions, was gentle and loving yet could be tough as steel when required. He was always there for his sons – John (Brenda), Frank (Julie), David (Laurie), and Paul (Teresa, deceased) – in the good times and difficult times.

The earliest lesson he taught them was W-O-R-K, his key to success. His favourite saying was "When the going gets tough, the tough get going." Grandchildren Alex, Amy, Andrew, Elizabeth, James, Katie, Mathew, and Nathalie, gave him great joy and he cheered on their many endeavours.

Peter's enduring and endearing love for his wife Sandra was the hallmark of his life. And right to the end he never quit – he was still smiling, giving firm handshakes, and telling everyone he was "tickety-boo."

Throughout his life he truly embraced the idea of "so let us run with perseverance the race that is set before us" (Hebrews 12.1).
