PILLAY, Ram "Dings" - Peacefully, on Sunday, May 2, 2021 Ram "Dings" Pillay waltzed his way into the afterlife. Having lived to the ripe young age of 94, Dings decided it was time to take the party elsewhere.
Dings had an adventure-filled life which flowed from the difficulties of Apartheid South Africa, to the political intrigues of the United Nations in 1960s New York, to the frozen tundra and family life of Toronto, Canada, to retirement and the lush glades of Port Charlotte, Florida.
Dings, along with his beloved wife Meena, lived and laughed and loved along the way, gathering a massive assortment of family and friends, who were all invited to join the fun. Wherever Dings and Meena landed, together they created a home that welcomed (and fed) whoever showed up at the door.
Dings will be dearly missed by his wife of 60 years, Meena, his son Siva (Betul), and daughter Sarojini (Ricky).
Dings' grandchildren, Krishna, Anil, Shanthi and Yasemin, and grand-dog Barkley will greatly miss their Thatha and all his jokes, pranks and merriment.
Vaya con Dios, Papa. We will always love you.
Visitation and service will be held at Chapel Ridge Funeral Home, Markham on Friday, May 7th, 2021
