POLESE, Assunta - Passed away peacefully on Tuesday May 4, 2021.
Beloved wife of the late Giorgio Polese.
Cherished mother of Severino (Karen), Robert (Sharon) and Claudio (Marianni).
Adored Nonna to Colleen, Mark, Aidan, Kate and Victoria.
Assunta was born in San Giovanni in Fiore, Italy in 1936.
She bravely immigrated to Canada as a young girl where she married Giorgio and together they raised three boys.
A devoted and loyal wife, mother, nonna, sister, aunt, cousin and friend, her steadfast presence and sage advice provided comfort to all who knew her. She will be remembered for her warmth, wisdom, insight, practicality and her frank opinions which would be gratuitously shared, with a twinkle!
She was also famous for her delicious and plentiful food, which effortlessly appeared at a moment’s notice. She prioritized family over all else and would drop everything to help, no matter what was on her personal plate and regardless of the time of day. That selfless, true and all- encompassing love will be missed.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Alzheimer Society of Canada.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions there will be no visitation however a Virtual Funeral will be held Monday, May 10th at 11:00 am.
